3 Brave DNS students from 3rd year decided to take a very long walk.
The idea: to overcome inner borders, learn to deal with fear, get to know your own limits and strength and explore cooperation on a new level. And to enjoy Nature and to do something you have never done before.
Michael Maining an experienced expeditioner had a plan and 2 of his team mates found it amazingly interesting to join in. He tells...
We packed up and went to get a course by my friend who also loves nature and did many hikes before.
First we had to learn how to read a topografical map and a compass. We learned how to build a bivuak and how to cross a wild river.
We made test hikes with full luggage and distance hike with half luggage. We packed food in day rations and we divided the luggage.
We entered an area full of glaciers and with temperatures near 0 (day + 5 and night -10).
Our boots and feet got wet when we crossed rivers, we marched on with wet feet.
2 weeks in the wilderness - 2 weeks on a an insulation matress, 2 weeks with "cat wash" and coffee cooked on our bonfire.
We are proud of our achievement and endeavors through nature and with each other!
