Reasons to join DNS

1. You learn about the real world and what is actually happening in many different parts of it… what conditions people are living in and how development is going on and spreading, or being stunted and repressed - by your own experience...

2. You meet the unbelievable richness of some of the cultures and societies that are often not regarded as much in the western world.

3. You do all this together with a team and in a framework so you can actually use the knowledge and the experiences to get wiser and put the knowledge to use.

You also learn a lot of practical skills (teaching, social, building, cleaning, studying) – and this is very important to have, if you want to be able to create change and to have an influence on where you work.

4. You get yourself a teacher degree by expanding your experiences into many areas of practice and travel – not by narrowing it down into the “limited” world of school and university.

5. You learn to apply your teaching skills in humanitarian work, in some of the places that are most lacking of teachers and hardest hit by poverty.

6. You get a teachers training that keeps on challenging you to break your own personal limitations, not only academically but also in many other areas.

7. You can get a lot of capacities that are very useful also as management training.

8. You place yourself in the fight against poverty, on the side of the poor, from the very beginning of your training. And by doing this you open up to learn things you otherwise would never do….

9. You will share the programme with a group of people in a common way of life, sharing economy and plans and dreams and problems, and this is in itself a learning experience for a really modern way of life.
